Privacy Policy

Effective August 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how First Cut Golf, operated by First Cut Golf, LLC ("First Cut Golf", "we", "us", or "our"), collects, uses, and shares information when you use our golf league, tournament, and event management platform. It is part of and incorporated into our Terms of Service.

1. A Note on Roles

First Cut Golf is used by clubs, leagues, and associations ("organizations") to run their golf programs. When an organization uploads information about its members, that organization decides what to collect and why, and First Cut Golf processes that information on the organization's behalf. If you are a member of an organization that uses First Cut Golf and you have questions about your information, contact that organization first. For our own account holders and visitors, we act on our own behalf as described below.

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us directly. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. If you set up an organization we collect its name, contact details, and settings.

Information organizations enter about their members. To run a golf program, organizations enter roster and competition data, which can include member names, email addresses, phone numbers, GHIN numbers, handicap indexes, tee preferences, scores, attendance, dues status, and similar details.

Payment information. When you subscribe, or when an organization collects dues or entry fees through First Cut Golf, payment card details are collected and processed by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers. We retain limited billing records such as plan, amount, status, and processor identifiers.

Communications. If you enable text or email features, we process the phone numbers and email addresses involved and records of the messages sent.

Usage and device information. We collect basic technical data such as log records, IP address, browser type, and actions taken in the app, used to operate, secure, and improve the service.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to provide and operate the service, authenticate accounts, process subscriptions and the payments organizations collect, send service and account messages, provide support, maintain security and prevent fraud and abuse, comply with legal obligations, and improve the platform. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it to serve third-party advertising.

4. How We Share Information

With your organization. Member information is visible to the administrators, owners, and scorers of the organization that entered it, as needed to run the program.

With service providers (subprocessors). We share information with vendors that help us run First Cut Golf, including payment processing, text messaging, email delivery, and hosting. They may use the information only to perform services for us. [Confirm and list the actual subprocessors before publishing.]

For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, safety, and property of First Cut Golf, our users, or others.

In a business transfer. If First Cut Golf is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

5. Text Messages

If text features are enabled, recipients can opt out at any time by replying STOP, and can get help by replying HELP. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase. [Confirm A2P 10DLC registration and the exact opt-out language with your provider and attorney.]

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to operate the service. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

7. Data Retention

We keep information for as long as your account or your organization is active and as needed to provide the service, then for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting, and security obligations. Organizations control most member data and can edit or remove it within the app.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information, including hashed passwords and encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Choices and Rights

You can review and update your account information in the app, opt out of texts as described above, and unsubscribe from non-essential emails. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request about your own account, contact us. If your information was entered by an organization, direct the request to that organization. [Insert the specific state-law rights language that applies after attorney review.]

10. Children

First Cut Golf is intended for use by adults who administer and participate in golf programs, and the service is not directed to children under 13. If an organization chooses to include information about minors in its roster, that organization is responsible for obtaining any required parental or guardian consent. [Confirm the approach to junior golfers and any COPPA considerations with your attorney.]

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
